Accessibility Statement
Effective September 5, 2026
ManaDraw (manadraw.io) is a free browser drawing party game operated by Gold Strategics in Florida, USA. We want as many people as possible to be able to join a lobby and have fun with their friends. This page describes what works well today, what does not, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.
What we have built in
- Keyboard support for the avatar picker. You can move between wizard avatars with the arrow keys and confirm your choice without a mouse.
- Visible focus outlines. Buttons, inputs, and other controls show a clear outline when they have keyboard focus, so you can always see where you are on the page.
- Reduced motion. If your operating system or browser is set to prefer reduced motion, the game respects that setting and cuts or shortens its animations.
- Low-volume sound. Sound effects play quietly and are not required to play. Nothing in the game depends on hearing a sound.
- No microphone or camera. The game never asks for access to either.
- Simple text. Prompts, buttons, and messages use short plain-English labels and a single readable typeface.
Known limitations
We would rather be honest about these than pretend they do not exist.
- The drawing canvas needs a pointer or touch device. Drawing is done with a mouse, trackpad, stylus, or finger. There is currently no way to draw using only a keyboard or a screen reader. This is the core of the game, and it is the biggest accessibility gap we have.
- The game is timed. Each drawing round runs on a countdown, and voting has a time limit too. Players who need more time to read, decide, or draw may find rounds end before they are ready. There is no setting yet to extend or remove the timer.
- The "potion" curses change how the tools behave. Curses can mirror the canvas, shrink the brush, shake the view, or otherwise make drawing harder on purpose. That is the joke of the game, but it also means some rounds are more demanding on motor control than others. Curses that add motion follow your reduced-motion setting where we can make them.
- Drawings are images. Submitted drawings are shown as pictures without descriptions, since they are made live by other players. A screen reader will announce that a drawing is present but cannot say what it shows.
- Color. Some curses limit or change the colors available. We try not to make any game information depend on color alone, but the drawings themselves are whatever players make.
What we aim for
Outside the drawing canvas, we aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA for the parts of the site that can meet it: the landing page, the lobby, the name and avatar screens, voting, and these information pages. We test with keyboard-only navigation and with reduced-motion turned on. We have not yet completed a full audit with screen readers, and we do not claim full conformance.
Tips that may help
- Use a tablet or a device with a stylus if a mouse is hard to control. Larger screens give you a bigger canvas.
- Play with a host you know. The host can wait to start rounds until everyone is ready.
- Your browser's zoom works on all pages, including the canvas, though a very high zoom may push part of the canvas off screen on small displays.
- Turn on reduced motion in your operating system settings if animation is distracting or uncomfortable.
Tell us what is broken
If you hit a barrier, we want to hear about it. Email aaron@goldstrategics.com and include, if you can:
- the page or screen where the problem happened
- your browser, device, and any assistive technology you were using
- what you expected to happen and what happened instead
ManaDraw is a small free project, so we cannot promise a fix date for every report, but every message is read and real problems are prioritized.
Updates
We will update this statement as the game changes and as we close gaps. The effective date at the top reflects the last revision.
